The "levels" you talk about might be specific to your organization. The person who gave you this information would probably serve as the best person to define these "levels". But, in general terms, PMs can get categorized by the dollar amount and length of the projects that they manage. If you manage billion dollar projects that last for centuries, you may receive the "high level" moniker. If you manage projects that last one month and cost almost nothing, perhaps you're a "low level" PM. I don't think any PM industry standards exist. Does anyone else know of any? Saving Changes...

PMI has been trying to come up with standards for project manager positions/titles/levels. I know that there are a lot of strong opinions out there for and against PMI… so I’m not advocating one way or the other… and I'm not saying PMI's definitions are best...
