You will find many opportunities in this community, Shivanjali.

You can present webinars, articles and blogs. You can also participate in discussions. It all counts towards General Education. One hour of these activities counts as one PDU.

I concur with Stephane on this.

Thanks! What is the process in this website to submit hours when we work on these?

You go to PMI's CCRS to submit PDUs.

I second Stephane's opinion and also on CCRS, you can find pretty much all the info you need. Good Luck !

Have you thought about volunteering for a local Chapter?

Shivanjali -

The majority of the PDUs I've claimed for recertification purposes have been based on giving back. This includes, volunteering with either Global Operations or my local PMI Chapters, writing articles or presenting at conferences.

While the minimum PDU's for such areas as technical, strategic etc. is clear, meaning that this is what must be done at a minimum, PDU's for things like volunteer work stipulates maximum hours, which isn't too clear about whether or not you need to have a minimum. So I guess maximum PDU's we can have zero PDU's also? I've done volunteer work but I don't want to claim it as PDU's.

There are also some remote opportunities to volunteer besides your local Chapter. Most of these opportunities are posted on the PMI VRMS website. Here is the link for you:

You can also get PDU's for sharing knowledge with your team members as well within your organization.

Thank you all for the information, reviewing your replies. Have couple of more queries: Discussion threads, giving speeches was good starting for me. Has anyone submitted their Toastmasters hours?

Shivanjali,
Toastmaster hours can be submitted as well. For PMI Portland Chapter, we started a new toastmaster club for Project Managers. This way the time spent could fall under a Chapter Activity. It becomes easier to track and submit your time.
