I have seen hundred thousand people hold PMP certificates that's great but I would like to ask all of them
Why did you choose PMP certificates ? why not other certificates ? what benefit have you got?
have you salary increased ?

I believe that all of them have different need and different vision

I didn't, it chose me :)

PMI-PMP is recognized in this area and holds 'weight' on one's resume. It highlights a base level of experience and knowledge of the fundamentals and shows an individuals initiative to earn the PMI-PMP professional designation.
I liked that it chose you :-) Who know which certificate will chose you next ... Cheers

I agree with Vincent Guerard, PMP is different than 20 years ago.

I have my BSc in computer science in 1992. Now after working 24 years at Telecom IS/IT area, (A lot of projects were run during work live, which pushed me to re-thinking about PM and prep for PMP.

(They say that "most of IT people finish their life job by Project management").

Salary increase, fundamentals, needed for interview, its a certification etc etc is not the real criteria of PMP. We can start and complete better projects with out PMP certifications.

I my view , PMP syllabus is a common procedure technique and yard stick to start control and manage a project.

Now if you are PMP certified, you talk the same language and will be on the same page with any practicing project manager any where in the world.

PMP is widely known and accepted by the project management industry in my country. Nevertheless, i can see the reputation for PRINCE2 and Scrum increasing year after year.

For me it is important to have knowledge, experience and endorsement by recognized organizations such as the PMI. I think it is the combination of aspects to decide on the certifications that I currently have.
