Have you already sought a candidate within your local PMI chapter? Hiring someone within the chapter may give you the advantage of already knowing something about the candidate’s competence and character. Also, you can avoid the outrageous billing fees consulting companies charge. As a long-term consultant I know some consultant companies will throw any warm body they can get into a position. This is particularly dangerous when hiring Project Managers, since their incompetence is usually apparent only after your project has begun to fail.
If that doesn’t work, then I suggest using Ace Info Solutions (https://www.aceinfosolutions.com) or Plan B Technologies (www.planbtech.net); both are local DC consulting companies for which I have worked.
