I am asked to recommend a requirements management tool to my customer. I have a first set of expectations on this tool. Do you have an idea where can I find a tools comparison tables / whitepapers / etc. ? Any other recommendation ?
Thanks, Milan

Hi Sean and others -
I would appreciate your sending me the requirements spreadsheet you mention in this discussion. I am looking for a way to record requirements and would appreciate any examples you are willing to share. My email address is [email protected]
Thanks

Hi all - as a result of my research for my customer I am going to recommend him the following 2 tools for the final consideration: TeamTrack from Serena (in my country distibuted by LBMS), and JIRA from Atlassian. Both do fully satisfy their needs, are pretty cheap, have many reporting and integration possibilities, etc.
I am not going to publish the full comparison table I have created (because it is tailored to this customer), but I can answer questions if anyone wants.

There is a high level comparison chart for requirements tools at:

INCOSE publishes a comparison but I found it hard to use.

You really need to consider what your trying to accomplish with a tool as they vary significantly from super simple web tracking of basic text centric lists of requirements to extremely complex tools. They also vary in if they offer full SDLC functioanlity like tracking tests and tasks or just pure requirements management. Are your pains in tracking status, origin tracking, prioritization and planning, version control, comprehension, collaboration, release management, traceability for quality purposes or cross components, etc. etc.

Here is a list in Excel I have used.
