Dear PM community,

what experience (good or bad) can you share on the topic of scaled agile framework? What approach did you use/ can you recommend from your experience (Nexus, Less, SAFe, DAD,...)?
Related to scaling, do you think there is a certain borderline, where scaling comes to a limit in such respect that it gets counter-productive in an agile sense and that you loose more than you win with a scaling approach?

Good morning,
As your organizations have transitioned to SAFE, what role became of your PM? Did they transition to scrum masters, eliminate all together or take on more of a program/portfolio role.

I can write about it because my personal experience with SAFE. But let me say that it could be good take a look to the PMI´s Agile Practice Guide. If not then take a look to Scrum literature because is a matter of Scrum, not a matter of SAFE due to the layers where you have to considere that is full Scrum oriented.

Agree with Sergio. SAFe is a scaled framework much based on Scrum with defined roles of PO, SM, and the Dev Team. On top of that are Solution and Enterprise Architects, Release Train Engineers (this role could map to a Project/Program Manager), Product Management, Business Owners, Epic Owners, etc.

From my perspective, as a PM, you would best be positioned in either the Program or Portfolio level. A lot depends on the characteristics of the individual, not just that they are currently a project manager.
