Should I remove all resources from the individual resource sheets in inserted projects when using a resource pool on the overall consolidated project in Microsoft project? I am using MS Project 2016.
Thanks in advance?

I think no need to remove all resource at this moment. Alternately for a specific time period you can reduce their allocation in activities (i.e. up to 0 level) whenever again at different time span you need those resources in project increase allocation in project activities.

You don't need to assuming the resources in your individual MPP files are setup with the same names as those in the pool. If so, when you link the individual MPPs to the pool, you can decide whether the individual file's resource info or the pool's resource info will take precedence if there is a conflict.

Where things get messy is if different PMs have created the different MPP files and used different naming conventions for resources...

OK, I did go to all the resource sheets in the inserted projects to make sure I had standard names across all. I do have the Master Project pulling from the Pool as precedence. So all seems well. I will go back to the individual MPPs and make sure they are pulling from the pool as well.
Thanks Kiron! Best in 2018!
