I am hoping someone has shared in my frustration and has found a way around this issue.
I would like to have a calendar of events or items out of MS Project, here is the catch, I would like a dedicated calendar for specific resources. An example would be, printing and providing individual resources their specific tasks in a weekly/monthly calendar view. I am surprised that project doesn’t do this natively, but I am in search of a work around, (VB Script, plug in, ect…).

I hope that I have understood your requirement sufficiently but I manage to print out a monthly calendar for specific resources from MS Project using the following method.
Click on Calendar view
From your filter on the formatting toolbar - select the "Using Resource" options
Then from the drop down select the resource you wish to print the calendar for.
This will filter out all tasks for that specific resource.
You can then print using the normal print commands. From the file print option you can also select a time frame to print.
