Does any of you are handling (or have handled) remote teams?
If so, what communication tools are you using? Are they being effective or you still face misunderstanding or response delays?
In my case we've already used Ryver, Trello, Skype and even Whatsapp, one complementing another.

Thanks,
Suleander

Please note that the skype is shutting down on July-2021. So better use 'Teams' if you are interested in skype/microsoft products

We use teams and whatsapp. For project communication we use Wrench Smart Project. These tools are used for adhoc communication and for scheduled meetings over scrum framework..

We use Microsoft teams. It is lighter than skype. In this era of remote work, we prefer to have video calls with clients using teams. It is effective compared to audio calls. Also it is good collaboration tool for internal teams with documents and notes at one place. The recording facility makes it easier to refer at later point in time for anyone. The recording can also be shared with other person for reference. This saves time in terms of stating same thing multiple times to different parties. We used the recordings effectively for knowledge transfer as part of closing phase of the project.

Skype is a good choice, but you can also consider Slack. Its nice to have "rooms" for different topics and to keep a history of what you are discussing. Slack also has really nice built in integrations with Salesforce, Asana (which I love), Dropbox, Trello, and so many more.
Deborah, thank you for highlighting the integration of communication tools and related software. That was a while ago that you posted this, and it would be beneficial to hear more along this thread.
