Does any of you are handling (or have handled) remote teams?
If so, what communication tools are you using? Are they being effective or you still face misunderstanding or response delays?
In my case we've already used Ryver, Trello, Skype and even Whatsapp, one complementing another.

Thanks,
Suleander

It depends what the purpose of communication is. I am on Kiron's side and recommend knowledge repositories, like wikis rather that collaboration tools (skype, whatsapp etc). I used slack and teams but the problem is that you need a (good) moderator.
Sometimes there is no huge need for communication. For example if a whole function or independent modules are done by remote team. The defect tracking team or the backlog should be enough.

Agree with Deepa,
combination of video & Tele conferencing facility along with mailing facility, version control tools will be of great help for managing remote teams effectively.

For remote communication, we have mostly used Zoom as it gives us an intuitive experience, and moreover the apps that supplement Zoom helps to enhance the efficiency and productivity of remote working. I would love to share a blog that I read about the productivity apps in Zoom. (https://blogs.marsview.ai/top-7-productivi...p-marketplace/)

Business Skype is good. You get quicker responses when you chat.
In project management communication is important. For remote teams you would need a common document repository and a video conferencing tool such as Microsoft Teams that offers screen sharing. I also use VisualWBS.com which enables the team to review and improve the wbs during live calls. Is it developed by project managers for project professionnals. Also it can be use as a visual status report presenting key project performance metrics directly in work packages. Support export WBS to MSP and import ststus data from MSP. visit VisualWBS.com

I have become a fan of Teams. The only thing I don't like is that when you are sharing a document you can't drag another document on to the screen you're sharing. You have to end your sharing and then go back in.

I am using VisualWBS when it comes time to plan and estimate the project. Along with a video conference screen sharing. It is a Windows PC software so it is fast. Visit VisualWBS.com
I use MS teams (it is part of Office 365 suite). You can create channels, groups, teams and control with admin access pretty easily.

Note that Skype for business is also part of Office 365 but you may have to pay extra..

We use teams and whatsapp. We also have daily one to one 10 minutes meeting with the key stakeholders on teams. For emergencies still rely on telephone calls. So far so good.
