Hi, I wanted to complete the PMP Exam before March 26th but unfortunately am not finding a slot in March at all .Is it a good idea to write it after march ,will there be a huge effort required to study the new PMBOK sixth edition if you are already well prepared with PMBOK 5th edition. Suggestions welcome.

Shaila -

There are sufficient changes between the versions that the un-learning & re-learning of nomenclature and ITTOs itself, let alone the additional content related to the role of a PM, tailoring & agile considerations and so on, would take some effort.

The bigger challenge will be finding sufficient good quality practice exam questions - top tier prep course material providers are updating their products right now, but these would be available at cost. I'd be surprised if any substantial free practice exam questions will be available for a month or two after the exam switches over.

To be safe, if you can't find a location anywhere nearby (and don't feel like taking a trip to England or mainland Europe) before March 26, I'd wait a couple of months at least after the cut over date.

I would second Kiron that it will require a substantial effort to unlearn and learn again and most importantly practice exams will either be hard to find or expensive.

I definitely agree with Kiron - You either do it before March 28 or wait till second quarter.

It's true there a few simulation exams for version 6 compared to 5. I don't know why anyone would focus on version 6 if there was any way to write version 5 by the deadline.
