The PMI States that changes are coming, but what changes are coming? What certifications are changing due to PMBOK6 new version?

PMI States: Updates are planned for later this year to five certifications. That means time is running out to take our current exams. Reserve your exam date soon.

As a result of Guide to PMBOK 6th edition

PMP and ACP exam changes on 26th Mar 2018
And
CAPM exam changes on 21st May 2018

PgMP and PBA exams are also changing in 2018 but that isn't related to 6th edition.

What all is changing for these exams, here is the PMI's link

Najam - Interesting...

So PgMP and PBA 2018th changes are not related to 6thED? and
PMP and ACP exam changes in a few weeks? March 26th, 2018 and those are related to 6thED?

Hope I got it right, let me take a look at the link you've sent.

Nothing that applies to me directly, yet. Any certifications you are preparing for that will soon change?

George -

Rather than my transcribing the content, I'd recommend folks visit this micro-site which PMI setup for the benefit of Registered Education Providers: https://www.pmi.org/update-center

. The Publication/Exam Updates menu has a bunch of choices related to your question - of course, PMI will only reveal so much :-)

Kiron,

I have two questions:

1- This is a very interesting link that you’ve provided. How did you reach to that link. When I open on the website, www.pmi.org, I only found this: https://www.pmi.org/certifications/exam-changes

2- I did not see any info about the RMP so I assume it is not changing soon. I noticed that you’ve mentioned to Dinah that it will. Is there any info on the PMI website about this ? I did not find any.

Thanks,
RK

I am studying for the RMP. There are a few changes in the Risk Management section of the PMBOK. However, I am not sure when they will update the RMP test. But I am planning to schedule my test soon so I will not be affected.

PMI will be refreshing the Risk Management Standard later on this year so my guess is that they might do a new RDS and issue an updated ECO (which would result in a changed exam) in late 2018 or in 2019.

I was told by PMI the RMP exam was not changing in March.

If you notice, the PMBoK version that is aligned with Risk Management Standard is PMBOK 4. RMP is really much behind rest of certifications.
BTW, I'm also preparing for RMP and should take the exam anytime in a month or so
