The PMI States that changes are coming, but what changes are coming? What certifications are changing due to PMBOK6 new version?

PMI States: Updates are planned for later this year to five certifications. That means time is running out to take our current exams. Reserve your exam date soon.

George -

Rather than my transcribing the content, I'd recommend folks visit this micro-site which PMI setup for the benefit of Registered Education Providers: https://www.pmi.org/update-center

. The Publication/Exam Updates menu has a bunch of choices related to your question - of course, PMI will only reveal so much :-)

Kiron
Kiron,

I have two questions:

1- This is a very interesting link that you’ve provided. How did you reach to that link. When I open on the website, www.pmi.org, I only found this: https://www.pmi.org/certifications/exam-changes

2- I did not see any info about the RMP so I assume it is not changing soon. I noticed that you’ve mentioned to Dinah that it will. Is there any info on the PMI website about this ? I did not find any.

Thanks,
RK

For your questions, Rami:

1. I don't know that there is a way to get to the REP micro-site by navigating from pmi.org - my guess is that's it has been purposely set up as an "orphan" so unless you know the URL for it, you can't access it. Don't ask me what motivated that decision :-)

2. The RMP exam update hasn't been teased yet as the update to the Risk Management Standard itself is in its infancy. My guess is that once the RMS updates are ready for review, they will start announcing upcoming changes. PMI staff are likely heads down readying for the changes to the PMP exam and other significant near term initiatives so I'm sure they'll eventually get around to it...

I am studying for the RMP. There are a few changes in the Risk Management section of the PMBOK. However, I am not sure when they will update the RMP test. But I am planning to schedule my test soon so I will not be affected.
I was told by PMI the RMP exam was not changing in March.

If you notice, the PMBoK version that is aligned with Risk Management Standard is PMBOK 4. RMP is really much behind rest of certifications.
BTW, I'm also preparing for RMP and should take the exam anytime in a month or so
