1. Introduction to the Award: The PMI Eric Jenett Project Management Award of Excellence recognizes and honors an individual who has made an outstanding contribution(s) to the project management profession or its practice through leadership, technical project management, and strategic and business management acumen.
Mr. Jenett was one of the founders of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the largest and oldest professional accreditation organization for project managers and is listed as member number 3. He was the first one to earn the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification. A PMI Fellow, Mr. Jenett was PMI’s President in 1971, Chairman in 1972 and Secretary from 1975 to 1976. A founding member of the PMI Houston Chapter, Mr. Jenett was honored by PMI in 1975 with a Distinguished Contribution Award and a Tribute to Lifetime Achievement in 2010

There is no limit to the number of PMI Eric Jenett Project Management Award of Excellence that are granted annually. Here are some details on the award criteria:
- You must be nominated by at least two and not more than six individuals, one of whom must be the Lead Nominator
- You must be nominated by a person affiliated with PMI, through either PMI membership or PMI certification.
- Your Lead Nominator must assemble and submit the nomination package no later than 1 March by email to [email protected]
Be awarded for your contribution to the project management profession with a prize that is named after a visionary founder of the PMI. Not only are you being recognized by your peers, but you are also being recognized by a worldwide audience of project management professionals.
