If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, and walks like a duck, it is a duck. Aligning to the PMBOK 6 Guide means just that; aligning to the frameworks and processes outlined in the guide in order to manage projects more effectively in PMI's view.

This means that for those courses developed based on the PMBOK® Guide: the student/instructor courseware, materials, content, and activities in the Education Provider Portal must be reflective of the Sixth Edition.

Content that is aligned with earlier standards is considered outdated and non-compliant, per program compliance.

Maybe the discussion title is not correct, but, it is essential for those students taking pieces of training to be careful with those providers that are not ( or will not) aligned with PMBOK6.

While I was studying for my PMP my provider made a huge mistake in giving the training in previous versions of PMBOK; I had to study harder to make it to the cut date so I could take the exam with the text I was reading. I just didn't want to review the new version and start all over again. At the moment I was new to the subject, and it was a great deal of effort.

Heads up, be careful with any training that is not (or will not be aligned).

Again, I' m just sharing, it might be helpful to someone.

Yes true George, that's why it's better to get trained by PMI's authorized education providers, and PMI ensures those trainers remain current and aligned.

All PMP® certification exam prep courses must be aligned to the PMBOK® Guide – Sixth Edition by the PMP® exam change date, which is 26 March 2018.
