Daily progress update

How to get the daily progress update from the team? Where everyday face to face meeting is not possible.

But our problem in construction is field staffs don't have access to the system.

Leverage automated status reporting as much as possible using a simple online Kanban board or something similar, but do allow time for short (10-15 minute) teleconference or videoconference calls to ensure that nothing is blocking your team.

This is a strong selling point of the quick daily scrum - 15 minutes maximum. This can be done in person or conference call.

I am working into virtual teams from 25 years ago. Teams are distributed along the whole world so it is impossible to have face-to-face meetings. We use tools belonging to Microsoft suite to stay connected like Skype for Business. What we do is to have a conference call with no more than 15 minutes on monday and friday. We use a corporate tool to update status each thursday and reports are presented to top managers each friday about general status. During the week we have a conference call just in case risk and/or issues that need to be discussed. In general, we follow what in some Agile based methods is named "daily stand-up" but not daily with the same group, it has no sense in general.
