Leverage automated status reporting as much as possible using a simple online Kanban board or something similar, but do allow time for short (10-15 minute) teleconference or videoconference calls to ensure that nothing is blocking your team.
Dear, through an integrated SharePoint interface where all update occurrence (daily/weekly/..) progress and access the shared report.
Thanks for the input.

This is a strong selling point of the quick daily scrum - 15 minutes maximum. This can be done in person or conference call.

I am working into virtual teams from 25 years ago. Teams are distributed along the whole world so it is impossible to have face-to-face meetings. We use tools belonging to Microsoft suite to stay connected like Skype for Business. What we do is to have a conference call with no more than 15 minutes on monday and friday. We use a corporate tool to update status each thursday and reports are presented to top managers each friday about general status. During the week we have a conference call just in case risk and/or issues that need to be discussed. In general, we follow what in some Agile based methods is named "daily stand-up" but not daily with the same group, it has no sense in general.

Daily conference calls & SharePoint are tools I use.
