How do I know that I am ready for taking the PMP? Is it easy for anyone to get through the exam first time? I am worried. Suggestions/advise are invited

I passed my PMP exam in Dec last year. You may want to read my blog at the link given below to know how I prepared. Hope you will find this helpful.

After reading PMBOK guide thoroughly, take as many full mock exams as possible. In all mock exams, try answering all 200 questions in 4 hours. Revisit all questions with wrong answers and go through the KA/topic in PMBOK. This analysis will help you understanding the KA you need to pay more attention for exams.

Check your scores in mock exams and confidence level.

The above strategy will definitely provide some insight on whether you are ready for PMP exam.

I agree with the comments here.
It's up to you to decide when you are ready for the exam based on your performance in the mock exams. So do the basics first, read the material many times and try to do online exams, if you are performing consistently then you may be ready for the actual exam. Anyway practice, practice and practice...it's not easy.

The exam needs a decent amount of time to prepare. You need to do simulation exams and if you score 80% and above then you should be ready.

You need to go through the PMBOK and another reference like Rita's.

Good Luck !

Muthukrishnan,

What do you mean easy? If it was easy it would have very little value to be PMP.

It is easy to succeed the first time provided you made the necessary preparation.

I suggest you look at other conversation here on what efforts people put on passing the exam.
