Why? Because if you work with or around people, it will come in handy.

There are all kinds of misconceptions and misunderstandings that we have to deal with in our daily lives. We sometimes need to check ourselves to make sure we are effectively communicating what we mean to communicate. We would also benefit from taking a moment and asking others to clarify what they mean, when we're not sure, instead of assuming we understand their intent and reacting.

I realize this is not the context of the quote, but you're not going to change someone else by throwing movie quotes at them. The only person you really have any power to change is yourself.
