"Every day I'm asked to do more and more with less and less until one day I will have to do everything with nothing."

Such a common theme these days. Hence the need for continual improvement. Work smarter, find better ways to do your work.

"To lead, one must first learn to follow"

Derived from Aristotle, but conveyed by a U.S. Army Drill Sergeant.

Often a leader can lose sight of their following skills. This can make project teams composed of multiple leaders quite challenging.

Apply common sense with common sense!

I apologies for not citing the source (if any) but I do not know it, I heard it the first time in the commencement speech in the ceremony of my MBA graduation, in fact this is the only thing I can now remember from the entire speech. It was powerful enough to remember it and to make the most to apply it. As many said, there is nothing common in common sense, sometimes "common sense" of past experience is a pitfall for the manager facing the need to introduce change, nevertheless is a fine balance to strike.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the one you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover ~ Mark Twain

Attributed to Mark Twain, but really unknown. This quote inspires me to do what I long to do, rather that worrying about failure. When I consider a new opportunity, whether it be a new project or a new position or a chance to visit somewhere I've never been, the first question I ask myself is if I will regret not going after it. If I would regret it, then I do it. I would rather fail or be rejected than to not put myself out there.

“If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.”Benjamin Franklin

BF was surely one of the precursors in project planning.

Another quote : “Learning is experience. Everything else is just information.”
