Main focus of PMO is Quality Assurance of projects and BAU activities. Risk and change management. What alternate name can be given to the PMO. Suggestions please Saving Changes...

Thanks for all your response. Yes totally agree PMO looks fine and I love being called the PMO :) but we are in a position to change the name to meet up with the business requirements and Executive decision, so no looking back. Great suggestions and thanks for your time. Shall let you all know what we have decided. Saving Changes...

Start with a Mission Statement and select your title from that. If the intent is to set up an office (group of people) to manage project delivery, its a PMO. If its for another purpose let the title reflect that.
I have a concern with the use of "Excellence" as a component of a title as it is presumptuous and, in most cases, meaningless. Excellence - the quality of being extremely good. Saving Changes...

Dear Sachana
Interesting your question
Thanks for sharing
I agree with Peter:
- Start by finding the purpose (or mission statement) of the structure you want to create
- Then think about the objectives you want to achieve and the activities that will be developed to achieve those
In this process an attractive designation may even emerge for the organization and key stakeholders.
And if it involves them, it may even be that they suggest the name.
