How many meetings a team should attend daily without affecting productivity? Does it varies based on software methodology you are adopting like Waterfall, Agile or others?
How many meetings you attend as a project manager on daily basis apart from customer calls?

I only attend the meetings that have a clear agenda, the participants and that last up to one hour

From my perspective it does depend of the team member and where the project is at. I always have less meeting earlier in the project, will then move to weekly and often in construction phase may have twice a week to daily meeting as required

I just read that GE leadership is going into "no or fewer meetings" to ensure team's productivity is higher. Although to some extent, fewer meetings are less distracting, we still need certain meetings to ensure engagement and clarification of some critical things. For Agile, you have the standard agile meetings, but for the waterfall, they are on the need basis. PM should apply the right logic and evaluate the necessity of a meeting and also equally important is for him/her to have the right audience, agenda and minutes. It also depends on the team sizes, complexity, internal/external audiences etc.

Its not the quantity but the quality of the meeting.

In my experience, it depends on the complexity of the project. Also, getting everyone together may not be doable always. Normally I try to have weekly meetings and other meetings on as needed basis.

Depends on the project and the demands of the same. I vary between once a couple of days to 4-5 times a day. I feel the flow of the project, stakeholders and act accordingly.
However, regular check ins, once a week are pre- scheduled for major updates.

I would rephrase the question and say something as simple as that every single meeting should be meaningful to all its participants. At the end, a meeting is a tool that uses inputs to provide outputs, being these specific to each meeting. Therefore, the " ideal" number of meetings does not exist " per se".

It depends on what kind of meetings. Progress and update meetings may be lesser a day vs scrum meetings that is shorter. Ultimately, it is to get the idea across for everyone to be on the same page or issues sorted out. No definite or absolute number of meetings a day.
