I am currently seeking good Application Project Managers. Can anyone suggest a good place to look besides the obvious job boards?

I have seen resumes in some of the local PMI chapter websites (not all have them though). You'll have to define "good"- in my perspective. Are you loooking for very experienced profesionals or people with intermediate level of experience with a good ttrack record? I usually get them through job agencies. ofcourse, you have to pay a price but it narrows doen your search.

We have gone the agency route, and have had some success. I'm looking for intermediate to experienced PM's that have a good track record. Telecom experience is an asset. But we will definitely try the local PMI chapter.

Thanks.

Best rated job boards are

and

indeed

20% changes to get into the Companies through Job boards.

Employee Referral is about 80% Success if skill and competency matches.

All the best.

One non-conventional route might be to contact related university post graduate programs. I met some awesome and experienced Application Project Managers in Masters and Phd level Tech classes. The very fact that they are there often indicates their commitment to "reaching for the stars" in their career, and some are "looking" for that next position. By the time they enter these programs, many also have a proven "track record" that is particularly important when selecting a PM for development projects.

Building on the PMI chapter idea, I suggest you attend one or more of their events so you can meet some of the local project managers first hand.
