MPM and MS Project

Hi

I am currently using MS Project 2000 (and not liking it from past experience) in my company. The company also uses MPM (ev tool). My question is, is there an add on to interface the two systems? We currently resource project, knowing it can not calculate ev. Any suggestions, without spending a fortune to integrate systems would help.

My experience of MS-Project is that it is fully capable of producing highly accurate EVA metrics but is seldom used to its full ability. Are you tracking actual hours and costs in MS-Project?

Dear Anonymous,

Our experiences are like Mr. Clarke's. But, to your question, "is there an add on to interface the two systems?" I seem to remember from a Planview seminar that the answer is yes and it's called Microsoft Project Connector. This tool provides seamless data transfer between Planview and MS Project. Users can import, or check-in, MS Project schedules and resource assignments directly into Planview. And, once this data has been modified, users can then check-out the data for use in Microsoft Project. But please confirm this with Planview.

Cheers!
