Just curious about those who have pursued and are currently pursuing CAPM, what has motivated you to do so?

For me, as assistant to the Portfolio Manager in my company, I have no project experience. While the role is highly administrative, it requires extensive communication with stakeholders of various projects but not at the project level. It's pre-project and high-level, involving decision gate approvals for presenting the business case etc. I also track project progress at milestone level for all capital projects, using a combination of MS Project and excel for portfolio reporting.

I used to feel a bit lost in the world of PM terminology and processes. Taking a course in CAPM has bridged the gap for me specific to those tasks. Yes, I could have done a more basic course of study but decided to pursue the challenge of this certification. However, CAPM has also allowed me the opportunity to be more involved in project related activities. It's the recognition that CAPM gives...the recognition that you want to be involved, and gratefully, my portfolio manager allows me the opportunities including additional training.

I am so glad that I have studied it and just exam to do. Please let me hear your story? Why have you pursued or are pursuing CAPM certification?
