Hello everyone, I have a question to suggest: assuming you have the prerequisites to register for the PMP exam and get approval on your application, how long does it take in your opinion to prepare for certification? Saving Changes...
It depends on how much time each day you can dedicate to study. I took around 2 and a half month with roughly 4 hours a day, meaning 300-350 hrs in total.
If you have some prior education like MPM or CPM than I think it should take lesser time. Saving Changes...

My 2 cents:
1. Always start with preparing your application, thats almost 25% of the certification, you might need your previous supervisors, managers nod for the projects that you're specifying cz if there's an Audit then atleast you'll be able to get their confirmation.
2. You can briefly go about studying overview of PM simultaneously until your application gets approved.
3. Post application approval, on an average ~200Hours is what you'll need to prepare for the exam. as rightly pointed by Najam, the duration will depend on how much time you can devote each day. For me, as I am working and studied simultaneously, it took close to 2 months.
Agreed 3-4 months, then do some practice exams. Above all, only write the exam after you have consistently score above 90% on the practices.

With my other priorities it took me a total of 5 1/2 months to prepare to sit for the exam. This included going through a program for the 35hrs of training needed. I agree with my Colleagues it totally depends on how much time you have to dedicate to the process. My recommendation set a realistic schedule that you can maintain. Good Luck. Saving Changes...

Yes, approx. 6-months. This includes everything from application through preparation and sitting the exam. Depends of course how much time you have to put to it - I was working full-time and have a family. I studied on my commute, after dinner, and on weekends. Saving Changes...

A decent 4 months of studying @ a rate of 3-4 hrs a day (With the PMBOK 6th Edition) for someone experienced should be reasonable. Saving Changes...

It is dependent on you and your way of learning. I took my time going through an Exam prep book, one chapter a week for 3 months. Then I did quizzes until I could take a boot camp class. After the class I did practice exams for a month before taking the test.
Everyone is different in the way they learn though. Saving Changes...
It took me 3-4 months of 2-3 hours per day during the workweek and some more during the weekend. Saving Changes...

I think it depends on the individual and number of hours you want to spend for learning, anyway for me it took around 3 months with 4 hours a day and extra hours on weekends. Saving Changes...
