A better question is "What's the point of accumulating 81,000 contacts in your network?"
A person can achieve this number by visiting every member’s profile and clicking ‘Connect’, and many will accept their request. While a large number of connections will boost your Influence, this score has no meaning - no employer will hire someone because he has a high Influence score on Projectmanagement.com, and a high score doesn’t mean you’re an expert Project Manager.
Members with tens of thousands of connections usually haven’t exchanged a single word with most of their network, making them no different than complete strangers. It’s far better to have a few dozen people in your network with whom you regularly communicate and exchange knowledge than tens of thousands with whom you don’t.

Exactly , I really do not see the usefulness of having someone to contact and not exchange a greeting, nothing ......
If we are going to have thousands of contacts, at least we have to find a way to interact with these people ... But it is part of the system ... Saving Changes...
A better one if we want to judge share of mind is the % of one's contacts who have recently read something we've posted, or better yet, have shared it with someone else...
Rami, Thank you so much for your positive thinking and supportive attitude, we have seen here two different views of some people who see no value at all in the connections, still they connect ! and some people see certain value...
This is one of the thing I mentioned before that what percentage you get useful answer, my question was not about the value of it rather was how long it takes a month a year, what numbers of years ?.... Like Sante mentioned we need to know how they did it ?

Riyadh,
You are very welcome.
I remember when I joined this community in 2015, it was very very very different. Now it improved significantly. None of us had this number of connection. A few people had 5,000 or 7,000. Since that time, we gradually built our Network Base. I currently am connected with over 75,000 which took more than 2 years. It takes time and effort on many different levels.
You have some good points there Rami. At least there is a mechanism to constantly engage a large number of people here, unlike the "add and forget" nature of many social media sites.

Thanks Sante.
Its never a bad idea to connect with people and try to establish a conversation.
The only aspect I would add is two questions:
Q1. Is it important to have the ability to reach a wider audience?
Q2. Is it important what number that wider audience has?
Q1 is answered very comprehensively by Rami.
Q2 is answered very precisely by Kiron. Saving Changes...
