Actually I think probably not. Loving the job, and then wanting to do it right up until the end is another thing. The job is a lot more stressful than many other choices, and stress and age don't mix together too well for the old ticker.

That's a good point Sante, I think doing functional manager with the background of project management tactics will give you upper hand and distinguish, however all responsible jobs are stressful to some extend and don't mix with certain age as you can not tolerate like before but all depends on your Financial Independence Freedom to pull the trigger.

Rami there might be bigger and more important roles for Scrum as it matures even further. It's already pretty substantial now.

Ouch - a somewhat morbid question :-)

While I think all of us will continue to apply project management skills throughout our lives, I'd like to dedicate the last chapter of my working life to project management teaching and coaching.

lol it is a little on the macabre side. Perhaps it should read: Will your last job before retirement be in the project management domain? Just for those that have more days behind us than in front. Oh damn, I'm being macabre again ;-)

I think teaching and coaching are very good options Kiron. It's something I would consider as well...as we turn that corner toward the 18th hole in the sky. Gee I keep doing it!

My final job will likely be in the project management domain. I can't imagine myself not doing project management in some capacity.
