Will your last job in life be in the project management domain?

Actually I think probably not. Loving the job, and then wanting to do it right up until the end is another thing. The job is a lot more stressful than many other choices, and stress and age don't mix together too well for the old ticker.

My last job before retirement was a sales job. But I considered myself as a program manager, utilizing stakeholder and benefits management and governance.
Project management centers around dealing with uncertainity and fear.
You can do anything once you have a portfolio of behaviors to handle uncertainity.
(continue to work as director, teacher, mentor and consultant, some after retirement fun)

Thata's interesting Thomas. I have jumped in and out of PM and sales roles such as a BDM.

I think going on a world tour is likely to be my last gig :) I don't want to be working , Project Management or otherwise in my last days

That's cool Deepesh. Touring the world takes most hours of the day so you can only really do it when work is not an issue anymore ie. in retirement.
