I am taking the text in 3 weeks so it's too late for me to update the day. That said, I am not sure I've studied hard enough. So I'm wondering what is passing for the test?

Thank you.

I just passed last weekend (what a relief!). I was using practice test questions averaging about 83%. I took a full length simulation the week before that was much harder and got 70%. What I learned from that was that it's critical to understand where you are in the process in the question scenario and what it's asking about: input or output vs. technique/tools. On test day I scored above target in all areas.

In my 2 months of studying I would say I answered over 2,700 questions.

Best of luck!!

Wishing you luck. I take mine next weekend. scoring pretty well overall in all mock exams and free questions online. Like you it doesn't feel like I've studied enough, but just have to finish that last push.
I've been using the PMBoK and Rita, and Lynda.com

Again, best of luck, hopefully next time we can both say we worried for no reason.

Analiza,

Make mock exam with results in the 80%.

It use to be in the 60%, I suspect it is in the 65% zone but no official information exist

Simulation in the 80% should be perfect for preparation.

The Rita book and testing software were invaluable in my preparation; and I knocked it out of the park. As i took practice exams for the various areas, I researched the questions I got wrong to help me better understand. Word of caution: this is not simply a memorization and regurgitation type exam. It's most definitely an application level exam. You must know the processes, their sequencing, and inputs/tools/outputs. The Rita book has a great matrix that makes understanding the processes much easier. Best of luck.

I passed test mid-Feb., Analiza. Early Jan. I asked PMI the same question. They told me that there is no longer a set % to pass. It changes for every exam.

The passing score apparently depends on the mix YOU get in your pool of 200 questions. Your passing grade -- defined under "needs improvement, below average, average and above average" -- will be determined by your correct responses over the 5 processes.

Here's another reality to give you some hope, Analiza. Collectively, after completing approx 10 mock exams, I scored between 57% - 67%. Not very encouraging, but I still took exam and I did much better than expected.

On the mock exams, 57% - 67%. But on the real exam, I earned "1 below, 2 average and 2 above average" - for a pass! Have no idea what % was required, but my total correct responses resulted in me sitting right on the borderline of average & above average, even though I had a scored a "below average" under the 'Initiating Process'. Poop! :)

So like others here have been advising you, #1 thing to do now is as many mock exams as you can. Me? I used about 10 mock exams, plus read Heads Up (I hear Rita is good as well), and reviewed lightly PMBoK.

Definitions at back of PMBok help. For instance, in exam, BETA is the term they use, where I normally use PERT, and so on. You can catch some ot this by reading thru PMBoK definitions.

Ok, Analiza. Hope this helps. Good Luck! Cheers,K.
Read Rita's Guide. Do the exams there. I passed mine last month. I think you need 69 to 70 % to pass.

Take into account this: you never will sure if you had studied enough. As a rule of tumb after making tons of questions (more than 4 times the amount of exam questions) if you get 75%-85% of accuracy systematically then you are ready. Remember that exam questions are situational questions. Forget about any other type of things. My recommendation is: the day before the exam do nothing related to the exam. The day of the exam do nothing related to the exam except the exam itself.

Some great comments shared. There is no official set number; more like an algorithm based on many factors. You can take the test twice, get the same results and fail one, pass one. I've seen it happen.

You should really go in feeling confident. Anxious and nervous is normal, but be confident on the content and preparation.

Good luck, Analiza.
