Can any one help explain: During closing, we archive historical information and lessons learned information in corporate knowledge bases as an OPA updates. Are we also updating PMIS as EEFs updates (PMBOK, p-58, 5th ed)? But it's not mentioned in the closing process group?
As part of the Close Project or Phase process, the PMIS might be accessed to finalize and/or archive project documents. However, any such documents which would be utilized in the future would be considered an OPA update NOT an EEF update as the latter are usually not documents.

Kiron,
I am not very clear as you explained. In PMBOK (5th ed) page 58, it is written that in closing process group "Archive all relevant project documents in the PMIS to be used as historical data". But I know that PMIS is a part of EEF. Also in PMBOK, it is mentioned that in the closing processes only OPA updates performed as lessons learned update.
A PMIS is a tool used in a process whereas an EEF is usually an input to a process as it is something which can affect a project but may be intangible such as organizational politics or corporate culture.
When we close a project or phase, one of the activities is finalizing and archiving documents. The documents are the OPAs but they could be stored in a PMIS (a tool).

Mahabubur, and just to confuse you more, the PMIS is considered an EEF, even though the PMIS may store OPA documents. Saving Changes...

Love can sweep you off your feet and carry you along in a way you've never known before. But the ride always ends, and you end up feeling lonely and bitter. Wait. It's not love I'm describing. I'm thinking of a monorail.
