PMI's practice standard for WBS's (https://www.pmi.org/pmbok-guide-standards/...es-2nd-edition) has a couple of technology related examples, but the level of detail is fairly high. If you are a PMI member, you can download a free soft copy to review...

Kiron, that link doesn't appear to work. I went to the where the guide is located also and couldn't find a "download" option. Did I skip something?

Sante, did you log on as a PMI member to pmi.org first? The breadcrumb trail for it was:

PMBOK Guide & Standards - Practice Standards & Framework - Practice Standard for Work Breakdown Structures - PDF Format Download

Thank you, Gentlemen, for all your help and direction.
So glad I joined PMI. What a terrific response.

I think I found the link Kiron and Sante referenced
"PMI's practice standard for WBS"
The link suggests a book for members for $35.95.
Any comments or suggestions about this book?

I also found a link to a WBS for various projects.

As a PMI member, you are eligible to download a free, personally-watermarked PDF copy of the practice standard. I would recommend reviewing the soft copy as it might give you some ideas beyond the example WBSs in the appendix.

Please let me say that it has no sense. It will depends on the life cycle you take. For example, if you want to create a WBS, take the PMI´s Practice Guide for Requirements Management or take the IIBA´s BABOK and make a copy of process-activities-roles and you will have a WBS for requirments.

Using PMI's Practice Guide for Requirements Management is a great idea!

You can follow the standard for the WBS that the PMI has. You have the elements to understand how to effectively use WBS and bring many examples
