Does the project Manager allowed to express his/her own views when it comes to political or religious analysis ? or the PM should be tight lipped.

Drake Settsu Project Manager / Blogger Hi, United States
I think it's best to stay neutral unless it's related to the project. Those two topics are normally not discussed at work.

Project Manager should avoid discussing any such or other issues which can create divide/ rift or unrest among team members or other colleagues.

Does this 'political or religious analysis' directly affect the project, such as whether it is advisable to construct a processing plant on top of an old graveyard? Or are you wondering if a Project Manager should express personal political or religious views that have nothing to do with executing the project?

Eric,
I see your point of graveyard, that could agitate the whole neighborhood :)
if such a project the PM have the say if he manage this project or leave it there are few other projects which contradict with the PM principle and values so in this way I should the PM should not join such organization.

Depends what country you live in Riyadh. You are in Canada so toss and coin and hope for the best ;-) We are in a similar situation in Australia (choking free speech) only not quite as bad yet. I don't like politics on these forums, but you did ask the question. I hope my Canadian colleagues here won't take offense; I won't for my own country ;-)

Sergio I like how you related to football as I am also one of the football fan, like few from your country like Maradona, Sergio Aguero, Omar Sivori, and goalkeeper Sergio Romero
others from Portuguese Ronaldo and UK and Germany also Pele from Brazil.

To clarify, if it's inside the project or at the workplace, then no. But outside of the workplace or project, again it depends in what country you live in.

Riyadh -

In general I would say these are not topics to discuss in the workplace to avoid any risk of violating company policies and/or creating unnecessary churn in a team.
