As mentioned by other posts, there are many, many applications available. And they all stand on their own merits.
Prior to looking into applications, how mature (adoption rate etc.) are your Project, Resource and Portfolio Management processes?
While evaluating applications or having vendor demo’s dig deep into the process questions and the applications role based security model/s.
