In my opinion design thinking could be used in requirements and solution definition, issue management and problem solving.

Design Thinking is a new buzzword (unfortunately) that is outside there from seventies. Lot of people like me have been working with that from years. Two key roles are under PMI consideration today: business analyst and project manager. Both must work on solutiuon where solution is equal to "the thing" to be created plus "the process" to create it. The first one is business analyst accountability the second one is project manager accountability. So, they both can use design thinking (as each person in this world is doing each day of they life) but the key role to applied it is the business analyst.

Dear Eraldo,

I will apply a process like Collect Requirement in design thinking to collect data that will lead do Design activities, delivering documents, prototype, etc.

In Design Thinking Lifecyle, deliverables should be Drawings, documents, Prototype, alternatives solutions, etc. that will be help for Go or non-go decision.

Design thinking is applicable to almost any type of creative work on a project so even though it might be usually considered in the context of the product/service/result produced by the project team, it is also applicable to how we tackle issues and risks.

It is always required in knowledge works. Each and every moment of the project really needs creative and innovative thinking and implementations to make the project successful.
