I'm going to choose Alexander the Great. He never lost a battle, and overcame massive risks and hostile stakeholders to succeed in his projects (to expand territory). He was able to get the best out of his team against overwhelming odds, and was always a step ahead of the competition. Saving Changes...

Mahatma Gandhi is the first person that springs to my mind. All the protest activities he lead for Indian independence were projects, and these involved amazing displays of communication, planning and referent leadership.
My #1 choice whenever this question gets asked is John "Hannibal" Smith from the A-Team.
Originator of that great phrase "I love it when a plan comes together!" he was a natural leader, leveraging the skills and compensating for the weaknesses of his team. He had a positive attitude and never led from behind nor did he leave any of his team behind...

Kiron, I was waiting for you to choose Bruce Willis or that MacGyver guy. Good choice.

The Wolfe from the movie Pulp Fiction.
He was able to create a plan on the fly to achieve a deliverable within a tight timetable by understanding the desired objectives and assigning unambiguous tasks to team members.
Danny Ocean: From Ocean's Eleven. Make a plan, ensure you have the right people, review the plan when there are issues in your way, know how to smooth talk your way into getting people to agree with you. All in all, make it happen no matter what.
