I need help in interpreting PMI analysis of my second PMP attempt. According to the analysis although I score higher in the tasks of Initiating and Planning it was deemed below target. It was explained to me the numbers of questions vary between tests, so that one can not really compare task scores between exam analysis documents. Saving Changes...
That is correct - the percentages of questions are allocated to the process groups/domains and not to individual tasks so even if you were Below Target for a task, it doesn't mean that represented a large number of questions.
All you can do with this info is figure out what you might want to review in further detail prior to your next attempt.

I agree with Kiron, as far as I am aware, the questions are drawn from a large pool of questions randomly so even if two candidates were besides each other, their questions are different. That is what I know. Saving Changes...

One thing that you may have to consider as far as the analysis is considered -
While you may not get the same number of questions for a given task across multiple exams, the fact remains that if you did not score high in a particular task, you should focus on that area, though the overall score on the Process Group looks better.

The exam breakdown PMI gives you is a great tool to pass on your next attempt. Saving Changes...

The tool to evaluate percentages is the Context Outline using the Domain section. But believe me, it has no sense to evaluate it. Including it has no sense to be happy or unhappy if you get the certification above or below the target. That said nothing about you as project manager. As the PMI stated a certification only demonstrate that you have enough knowledge about the application to all PMI stated into a project. But as you know, when you go to the real world, some of things that will help you to answer a question do not fit for being applied into your daily reality. And that´s not mean that you are not able to get the project success.

In addition to what others have said - it is an area on which you need to focus to be successful on your third attempt, I would ADD...keep these areas in mind when you are securing your 60 PDUs once you become a PMP.
