I was scheduled to take my test tomorrow, March 22. I got an email and a phone call at 8pm tonight saying my test was cancelled because of the weather. I tried finding another date before the 26th, but none were available. I tried to schedule another test, but my eligibility ID comes back as already used.
Anyone have experience with a cancelled date that was beyond your control? Saving Changes...
I too had my exam scheduled for today in Fairlawn NJ center. I called the PMI and they said that I need to wait for an email for further directions as they are reconsidering to let the ppl take the exam is old pattern as there are many who are impacted by this weather.

Interesting. I didn't even bring it up when I talked to PMI. I just went ahead and scheduled my exam. I've been studying for so long that I just want to take the exam and be done with it. It's ok if that means learning the new edition.

I am in the same boat. They are saying that they will refund the money and we will have to reapply or we can take the NEW test.
PMI is screwing its members. I know this is a problem affecting many people. All of us spent money to prep for the exam for edition 5. I for one spent money on courses, RMC books, books on CD, practice exams, etc. I spent thousands. I had to reschedule the exam to 3/22, due to being hospitalized. They cancel the exam and they now want us to pay to re-tool and take another month to prepare. They are even expecting us to fail cos' they are offering a "free retake" if we opt to do this!
These changes are significant, I am on the Board of Directors for my chapter and I deal with education and professional development. We had to cancel our spring PMP prep course because the changes are so significant we have to retrain our instructors.
I also had jobs pending my PMP. Now those offers are gone. I would expect PMI to be the place we could go to for help with issues like these. However, they are blindly chasing money at the expense of its members. It is akin to extortion, because they hold the "keys to the kingdom".
This has had a HUGE negative impact on my life in many ways and I am sickened by PMI's actions.
They need to allow those of effected to take the edition 5 test! Anything else is not acceptable. I cannot afford to go out and get practice exams, and RMC workbooks, Audio CDs, etc. More importantly I should not have to!

I hear there is a class action law suit against PMI for the manner in which they are choosing to proceed (not allowing members to take the exam they paid to take and sent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours prepping for).
Now anyone who still wants to get their PMP will have to re-tool and spend hundreds more to prep properly. Not mention the additional time and added stress.
PMI is supposed to abide by its Code of Ethics and Professional Standards of which Fairness is one of the 4 pillars. This is not fair! This is extortion. They control the cert. They feed the multi-billion dollar industry to get people certified (and profit from that as well).
Join the class action law suit and hold PMI accountable to their members! Saving Changes...

Very unfortunate. I wish you much success taking the new version of the exam. I am sure this has happened before. In these specific cases, they should allow you to take the exam using the 5th Edition. Saving Changes...
Just wanted to give a quick update. I took the new test today and passed with 5 ATs. Honestly, if you were ready to take the 5th edition test, then you're probably pretty much ready to take the 6th edition test. Review the changes to the PMBOK and go for it.
