I would like your advice on whether to pursue CAL (scrumalliance.org) or SAFe SPC. These are on my shortlist given my program management/PMO background (not a developer of software dev project manager). Many thanks in advance! Saving Changes...

There is a lot of large scale, enterprise organizational applying SAFe. This market has been growing rapidly over the last few years and from what I can see as a consultant it is the dominant framework for large scale, enterprise agile transformations.
SAFe has a rock solid foundation from its authors previous experiences with the Rational Unified Process and I think he has done an effective job of developing an approach that addresses many of the gaps that Scrum introduces when it is scaled. I haven't seen a lot of traction in the market with CAL and it doesn't enjoy the same support SAFe has been able to establish.
All that said though, implementing SAFe requires a big commitment and I suspect many organizations will struggle with really getting all of its benefits unless they are prepared to retool their organizational structure and culture. Saving Changes...
SAFe is the 300 pound gorilla of agile scaling frameworks and is fairly prescriptive. If you don't have any agile certs yet, you might want to start with a general agile one before aligning with any given framework - for example PMI's PMI-ACP.
Thanks both. I am CSM and agree with the remarks on magnitude. Either cert could be part of my continuous learning. Had been wondering if CAL was taking off, thank you for your insights. Saving Changes...
