Hello all,

I know the eligibility time frame is one year, but does that also mean you have one year to pay and schedule for the exam?

When do you think is the best time frame to pay and schedule for the PMP exam if you plan on taking the exam in 3-4 months?

Hi Chinyere

Right
While you don't make the payment, you will not be able to schedule the exam, also keep in mind that some centers has limited availability.

Good luck!

Thank you! I will definitely keep that in mind. I've already picked a center and they have availability on my preferred date.

Consider scheduling the exam and submitting payment well in advance of your desired date. As Natalia mentioned, there can be limited avaibitlity. You also want to set the 'carrot' so as to remain on track with preparation.

All the best...

Andrew has a good point. Scheduling a date gives you a deadline to work towards.

I agree with my fellow colleagues. I usually pay immediately after my application gets accepted. I normally submit my application after I finish my studying and get ready to ensure I have time to sit for the exam as work can be very demanding.

In case I was auditied, all paper work in place, if not, then within 5 days my application gets approved then I pay and book immediately for the next available date and during this time, I keep revising the material.

I would say that you pay and schedule your exam for your desired date (if available) immediately as there are chances that people keep delaying it due to the daily commitments and become lazy thinking that they still have a year to appear in exam. Once you have paid and reserved the date a goal is already set and there is this exam fee at stake, which will force you to adjust your daily routine for study.
