That lessons learned should have been done throughout the project, not just at the end. That's my best lesson learned.

Samer I agree with Sante lesson learnt through out the project and each phase if you have multiple phases, however there are multiple lessons depends on the type of project I believe on every project a technical knowledge would be gained and few mistakes to avoid in next preliminary planning and execution of the project, learning best activities sequences
procurement close out , handling delivery arrangement; commissioning and start up in front of client and sign out

Samer probably means what is your most memorable experience learned during closing-out phase. If so, I would always say, engage the client to some extend and ensure satisfaction till the end.

The best one I learnt that do not leave documentations and lesson learned to the end .. just do it as you go from day one.

In one occasion I had to print my name, sign and date over 12000 pages in one week ... never ever again....

start with the end in mind. If acceptance criteria and other conditions for a successful close out haven't been defined earlier, close out can become quite contentious.

Project manager Is like a football referee: if she/he made things in the correct way the participation is not taking into account at the end of the match. The same in project close.
