My wife knows about my commitment to work, so never had any problem with that. But at the same time I know that there is life after work, so I always try to spend quality time with my family.

My wife knows that my commitment to my profession is like a second marriage and doesn't begrudge me my "two-timing" her so long as it doesn't impact our shared commitments. Time spent here is investing in your career and building your brand - both critical these days.

Of course, once golf season starts, then she'll start complaining about my prolonged absences from home :-)

Hi Kiron... the golf season in Perth is the whole year around...

Kevin,
I want to wear the "ethics" hat here and wonder whether you are giving your wife attention, time and understanding that would be qualified as respectful and fair.
We all have our passions, interests and hobbies that might pull us in a direction that is lacking in balance. Take her with you to Golf? or get her interested in something that will take place at the same time you are playing golf - that will solve the problem.
Cheers,
Amany
