Dears,
I am PMP Certified, and I have a question, is it allowed to register for the exam of Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP)® directly without taking the exam of Program Management Professional (PgMP)® or not ?

Thanks

It is not required for you to be PgMP for applying for PfMP. Eligibilty requirements for PfMP are:

1. Secondary diploma, Minimum eight years (96 months) of professional business experience and Minimum seven years (10,500 hours) of unique non-overlapping
professional portfolio management experience.

OR

2. Four-year degree, Minimum eight years (96 Months) of professional business experience and Minimum four years (6,000 hours) of unique non-overlapping professional
portfolio management experience.

Yes. Sure you can. In fact no certification is prerequisite to any other. Only thing is you need requisite experience in terms of hours and years as specified in handbook.

Firas -

the two credentials are focused on two different sets of competencies so yes, you can certainly attain one without the other.

My recommendation, beyond the valuable comments above, is taking a look to all related documentation inside the PMI Certifications site (mainly the handbook) and send an email to PMI´s Customer care just in case you still has doubts.

Unlike the Prince2 streams that do require foundation before practitioner in most cases.

Hi, Programme and Portfolio Management are two different eco systems within the PMI suite and have different applications. You can write the PfMP exam if your portfolio of evidence conforms to the PMI pre requisite and the PMI board of assessors approve your portfolio of evidence. After approval thereof, you pay you exam fee and then you have 1 year to write your exam, in the 1 year, you will have 3 attempts to pass your exam.

PMI´s Customer care confirmed, there is no relations or prerequisites among all '8' certificates of PMI.

Anyway, I am PMP Certified in March 2018, and I intend to do also PfMP certificate, because it match to my job as "Project Portfolio Manager".

Can anybody guide me to the steps till reaching for the PfMP credential. My major concerns are below:

1- Which PfMP study guide should I use to pass it, is it "Standard of 2013" or "Standard of 2017" ? and when the PfMP exam of Standard 2013 will be changed in 2018?

2- In my PMP exam, I used both PMBOK v5 and Rita v8 as references for study till reaching for the PMP credential. So that for PfMP certificate, which support documents/references can I use to ensure passing the exam successfully?

3- I need to get material hard-copy in both "English and Arabic" languages for my future reference of PfMP, is it possible?

4- I need to get real practices / exam questions of PfMP, so where can I find and/or purchase it exactly from PMI?

Thank you for anybody willing to support me.
