Some of the things that can be done to make a project more "green" are also best practices that will help to make projects more effective overall. A few examples:
- when possible, avoid printing documents and presentations and instead ask team members to use print at their discretion. You may be surprised by the number of team members that are just as happy to review a document on their screen rather than have a printed version handed to them in a meeting
- even better, avoid long documents. If a 1 page requirements summary captures the same information as a 10 page template, use the 1 page version
- when feasible, use conference calls and video conferences rather than travelling to locations. This is tricky because there are productivity leaps that can be made when the team is in one place, but there is also a balance and a cost. Saving Changes...
