We are working at moving from an existing Application Management System to a new system.
Though we have a plan based on our experience of handling the change management of smaller applications would like to get inputs, if there is a structured Plan or Template of handling a large scale conversion project.

Any paradigm or suggestion would be highly appreciated.

Srigopal, not sure that I can point you at a specific template for this sort of thing, but what I would suggest is that you address some of the big decisions associated with this type of project early on. The biggest challenge with this type of project is often deciding when and how to cut across to the new system. How long are you going to parallel run before cutover, how long after cutover, is cutover going to be phased or 'big bang' etc. I think it is important to get all of the stakeholders agreed on these decisions up front because they will impact the decisions made during the execution of the project. I don't believe that there is a 'right way' to do it - it will depend on the specific risks, costs, etc of each situation. Hope that helps.
