I have an interview next week for a project manager position and was wondering if I should create a project or professional portfolio for the interview. And If so what format do you suggest?

I personally do not feel it is necessary.

The person conducting the interview usually gives an overview of the company and the position.

The interviewer will then focus on you by asking a series of questions and giving you some scenarios. The intent is to find out how you will perform in the position based on your current experience and the responses you give.

As Mr Drake have mentioned I share his opinion too. I think in order to enhance your chances you should try to better understand the enterprise and be able to point out crucial fact that can be improved and propose a solution.

Amanda,

What in you project portfolio experience would be a benefit to this company? It is your experience acquired in the realization of the portfolio that you need to show.

Amanda, I do not think this is necessary for an interview and not sure if this will add value in the eyes of the interviewer. Good Luck

Amanda -

As the others have said, unlike a role like a graphic designer or technical writer where a portfolio of work is a normal part of the candidate review process, specific highlights of your professional experience should be readily available from your resume/CV and you might be asked a few questions about those...

I don't see any specific need but, there is nothing wrong to have an informal group to discuss and review current practices and lessons learned. This will definitely help in the interview.
