Retiring Data Warehouse Interfaces

I have been asked to retire a legacy interface in the data warehouse/ business intelligence space. This is the 1st of several decommission projects that I will lead.

The problem is that I am blazing new paths because this is a 1st in this environment.

Do you have any guidelines, best practices, checklists, etc that would guide me through this project lifecycle?
