I like Dinah's answer. Some part-time/volunteer involvement would be good.

My thoughts are that the title might not read Project Manager, but I don’t see how you stop utilizing the skills of project management regardless of the position you hold.

Hopefully project management will be subset of what I might be doing 10 years fast forward. It could be more towards the strategy, portfolio and program than just the project not to mention proceeding towards and SME role too.

I think no one can guarantee that we will wake up next day, however as long as this soul breath air I guess I would still be talking about it in one way or other, even if it become something from the past or just memories it is hard to completely disassociate with that piles of experiences and it would be a deep treasure well of advices for new comers.

That's the plan. I am just worried that pretty soon it's going to be mandatory that every project manager must acquire the PMP, which will lower the value of the project manager.
