Almost we have following generation working in one team;- Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and the emerging Generation Z.

What would be the recommended handling techniques to overcome these gaps?

How to prepare for the differences in generational values and how they show up in the workplace?
What strategies we should adopt to foster relationship-building across different generations/
How to Identify the elements of employee engagement and the drivers for each generation?
What strategies we should develop to effectively engage and motivate generationally diverse team?

There might be stereotypes associated with different generations but there are some universal practices which apply across all of them including:

+ treat them like professionals
+ recognition based on results not on title or tenure
+ connect their work to their own calling & purpose

Sorry about my words, but all that classifications and differentiations are bullshit. I started working in 1979, I led my first group of 650 people in 1985 and I am leading people today starting people from different countries along the whole world from 1995.

Thank you Sergio for your valued input, I just thought that we are talking about generation gap which can occur in same country not the cultural gap between different countries.

Riyadh,

I thinking we put too much emphasis on generation gap. There was always differences between generation. We may but more effort in understanding the differences. Each generation is part of the team.
