PMO is Project Management Office

If he meamt program management then PMI offers this certificate PgMP but you need to have 6,000 hours of program mangement experience to qualify.
I would think he meant this as well.

I also found this one - http://www.practilutions.com/PMOCertification.htm

I would not do it. Looks a bit sketchy.

I did a quick search and this site came up http://www.pmocertified.com/ . But I could not open it.
Dinah that is the one I was referring to, now I recall the name. That is the one that seems dodgy. I don't see an exam or a governing body. Just a training course where you get "certified" at the end.

There is a section on the website about a PMP prep course. It says it uses the 4th edition of the PMBOK. I do not think the information has been updated in a long time.
I did look up one of the Course Designers who is a PMP. He does show up in the PMP register on PMI, so he appears to still be active.

I would stay far away from this one.

I do think this sounds like it could be an interesting certification. But I also think the PMO is evolving. There are many different types of PMO and they can change as a company changes. I think that coming up with a standard Book of Knowledge would be a challenge.
